A Little Bit About Us
Herbs grow best in poor well-drained soil, and a windswept cliff top in Cornwall provided a perfect, if unlikely first home for Halzephron Herb Farm. To begin with the farm at Gunwalloe produced herbs for local restaurants, then a few experimental recipes were tried. It was not long before visitors were flocking in their thousands to sample the unique range of herb food products, and to discover the burgeoning world of herbal treatments and remedies.
Now Halzephron Herb Farm has three shops in St Ives and Truro. The old recipes are proving as popular as ever, but we have introduced many new products, using organic locally grown herbs whenever possible, and other natural ingredients.
Our products are handmade, and our business is a family concern. We pride ourselves on the quality of Hazephron products, and we are constantly working to improve and expand our range.
MEET THE TEAM
Halzephron Herb Farm was invented by Debbie and Alan Fowler, and it has been a family business ever since. Alan and Debbie handed over the reins in 2005, and now Donna Boon and her family make sure the spirit of Halzephron lives on. Donna, a Gunwalloe girl who has worked at Halzephron ever since she left school, is the manager, assisted by her husband Stewart. Mum, Val, is in charge of the kitchen, where her assistant is Donna's sister, Tania. Donna's great aunt Winnie (of 'wonderful wheat bag' fame) also helps out on a regular basis, and so does gran, Beryl.
Three Gunwalloe originals, Sally, Sandra and Auntie Beryl, helped by Millie from Nancledra, run our flagship shop in St Ives. If you visit our shop in Truro you will meet Chris, the manager, or Bella.
